Hi everyone,
It’s been a fabulous few weeks rehearsing with you all. Now the time has come to record your videos! Please read the following instructions in full. Should you have any questions please reach out to Julie and John in the first instance who will then forward any queries they cannot handle over to me.
Step 1. Read the Smartphone Filming Instructions
Step 2. Download the backing track
Step 3. Have a bit of a practice! Sing along with YOUR mp3 and make sure there aren’t any bits you feel unsure of. If there are, just focus on those – a few bars at a time. Just before the guitar solo I need you all to shout “1,2,3” like in the track, not “whoa” as covered in the rehearsal (my mistake)!
Step 4. Go for it! Make the first film. Enjoy! And SMILE lots, even if it’s fake!
You will need your phone set up to film you, plus the sound file on a different device with headphones/earbuds plugged in. Please try to perform the piece from memory rather than looking down / across at the score.
Step 5. Have fun with the second video. Don’t worry if there are bits of the song where you are paying more attention to something else, or even that you go out of shot. But do make a ‘complete take’ of the whole song.
Step 6. Upload your videos HERE.
Please label your first video with your name and the number one and your second video with your name and the number two.
